“When is the best time to learn progressively?
When a great coach teaches they teach the sport as though building blocks that stack on one another, similar to mathematic instruction, history instruction, etc. One + One = Two... Two + Two = Four. It's very hard to do this when practices have long time gaps and athletes forget skills learned days or weeks ago.
Enter Summer Camps... the best time to teach REAL systems of wrestling. I am looking forward to spending time in California for Sunnyvale Wrestling Club’s Black Sheep Mini-Camps and instructing on "Escaping from Anyone in the Country" one week - and "How to Ride or Escape from Legs" the second week.
Usually both systems would be too advanced for some ages and skill levels - but when taught progressively for 4 days in a row, with 4-5 hours of instruction. Kids can make real progress and any level can learn the foundation of mastery of Top and Bottom.” - Jeff Marsh
